Inside the OSD

Today, we're learning about our Unified Physical Education class at Oregon High School. This class is a model of inclusivity and we'll hear from class instructors, athletes, and partners about their experiences and why they say it is more than just a class. 

Today, we are at Forest Edge Elementary to take part in one of our favorite fall traditions: The Great Apple Crunch.  We’ll hear about this beloved event, which is just one of the ways that our School Nutrition Team creates excitement about healthy foods to set the stage for healthy lifelong habits for our students. 

In this episode we’re joined by OHS Performing Arts Center Director, Nate Mendl, and students from our acclaimed vocal group, Noteworthy A Cappella.  We’ll hear about their experiences as vocalists at Oregon High School, the experience of creating and releasing the group’s first ever album, and their upcoming performance opening for Lee Rocker on October 17 - right in our own PAC!

We're kicking off Season 5 of Inside the OSD with OHS Head Football Coach Matt Weber and student athletes from our football leadership council.  We'll hear all about Homecoming week, the culture of sportsmanship built on and off the field, and what this week means to our school community.

In this final episode of Season 4, we bid farewell to Dr. Leslie Bergstrom, as she enters retirement, and officially pass the mic to our new OSD Superintendent, Dr. Shannon Anderson.  Tune in as we celebrate Dr. Bergstrom's career and hear about Dr. Anderson's plans for the future.

Today we are taking some time to talk with our students who will be addressing their class during the graduation ceremony.  We are excited to hear about what has led them to this point and get a sneak peak into the words of wisdom they’re planning on sharing with the Class of 2026.  

In this episode we're meeting up with our OHS students from Orange Overdrive, our OHS Robotics Team, who recently returned from the WORLD Robotics competition.  We can’t wait to hear about their experiences and all they learned from this once in a lifetime opportunity!

In this episode we are learning all about Meals Matter - a new organization at Oregon High Schol that is taking on the very important challenge of food insecurity in our community.  We’re talking directly with the club president, Matthew Schultz, hear about their work, what’s coming up, and how our community can help.

Strong Family & Community Partnerships is one of the Oregon School District’s five core values. In this episode, we are speaking with community member, John Keuhl, creator and Commissioner of Oregon Bench Mob - a basketball league right here in Oregon that was created to offer more high school students an opportunity to play recreationally competitive basketball.
